Only the finest quality ingredients are used in making my products, including organic and wildcrafted botanicals and pure therapeutic-grade essential oils. Whenever available, I choose local, organic, biodynamic and sustainably harvested ingredients from producers who support ethical farming practices. I also grow some of my own botanical ingredients following organic and biodynamic gardening practices (not certified; indicated on labels as locally grown and cultivated without chemicals). When I am fortunate enough to be graced with nature's bounty, I wildcraft some ingredients, collecting them with prayers and gratitude from large, healthy stands in unpolluted areas; here again, I always follow ethical practices, taking only what I need and what the plant stand and land can sustain, minimizing my impact on the flora and fauna as much as possible.
To keep my products as clean as possible, I have chosen not to add any synthetic ingredients, petroleum products, or fragrances. Parabens, sodium laurel sulfate, petroleum by-products and fragrances can irritate sensitive skin and may negatively effect our health and that of our environment. Natural preservatives, such as vitamins A and E, rosemary oleoresin, and essential oils, provide wonderful alternatives to their synthetic counterparts. Additionally, small batches ensure better quality control, as well as a fresh product for consumers. These wonderfully fresh, natural ingredients create products that are best enjoyed within six months to one year for herbal oils, lotions and salves; other products, including tinctures, may be used for several years (see individual product for additional information).
