For over 17 years, I've been teaching individuals various tools they can use to reduce discomfort and improve their overall health. As any of my clients will tell you, these self-care tools are the foundation of our work together. Becoming familiar with each of these tools, when to apply them and their impact on your body can free you from dependence upon bodywork and over-the-counter pain relievers to ease your discomfort and foster a sense of empowerment when it comes to your well-being and vitality. Participants are actively led through the most common self-care tools I recommend to clients, we discuss when to use them and why they work. Tools include various stretches, manual releases of fascial and muscle tissue, Pilates-based movement, use of the small ball, golf ball and tennis ball to facilitate releases, as well as proper ergonomic alignment at desks/computers to reduce body strain and imbalance. This is a valuable workshop for the practitioner as well, providing useful self-care tips and tools to pass for clients to complement other therapies they are receiving.
